Hot Toddies & Warm Sips

Hot toddies are the ultimate winter warmer — simple, flexible, and deeply comforting. This version leans into tea, honey, citrus, and warm spice for a balanced, cozy sip.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz bourbon or dark rum

  • 5 oz hot black or herbal tea

  • 0.75 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey & hot water)

  • 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice

  • Optional: cinnamon stick or clove


Directions

  1. Add honey syrup and lemon juice to a heat-safe mug.

  2. Pour in hot tea and stir gently.

  3. Add spirit and stir to combine.

  4. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or lemon wheel.


Batched Recipe (Up to 25 Servings)

Includes dilution from hot tea


Ingredients

  • 37.5 oz bourbon or dark rum (≈ 4.7 cups)

  • 125 oz hot brewed tea (≈ 15.6 cups / just under 1 gallon)

  • 18.75 oz honey syrup (≈ 2.3 cups)

  • 12.5 oz fresh lemon juice (≈ 1.6 cups)


Batching Instructions

  1. Brew tea fresh and keep it hot in a thermal container or slow cooker (low).

  2. Stir honey syrup and lemon juice into the tea.

  3. Add spirit just before service to preserve aroma.

  4. Serve warm; garnish individually.
