Bold • Brooding • Perfectly Balanced
The Black Manhattan swaps sweet vermouth for amaro, creating a deeper, more complex cocktail with bitter-sweet elegance. It’s rich, contemplative, and ideal for cold nights when you want something spirit-forward without being predictable.
Ingredients
2 oz rye whiskey (or bourbon if you prefer softer edges)
1 oz amaro (Averna or Montenegro works beautifully)
2 dashes aromatic bitters
1 dash orange bitters
Directions
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
Stir until well chilled and properly diluted (about 20–25 seconds).
Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
Garnish with a Luxardo cherry or expressed orange peel.
